Skeleton Crew

Dorinda Borer’s involvement in the community began as a PTA parent/president raising funds for her son’s school which then transitioned into serving on the Board of Education for 4 years where she began the first health and wellness committee and the City’s first Early Childhood Development Commission. She now proudly serves as a West Haven State Representative as Vice Chair of Public Health, a member of the Environment Committee and chairing the Veteran’s Committee. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of New Haven.

Her Community volunteerism includes founding the WH Italian Street Festival and chairing it for 10 years. As a member of the Ward Heitmann House, she helped to chair their fundraiser efforts in order to preserve West Haven’s rich history. She spearheaded Helping Hands which paired teens with elderly members of the community. She is a past member of the board for the Clifford Beers Children’s Health Center, the fireworks committee, the Savin Rock Festival, the Tree Lighting Committee and most recently she led the West Haven Rotary’s Vocational & Scholarship Committee. She is currently an Elk, a member to the WH Community Garden and a member of the New Haven St Patrick’s Day Parade and WH Irish Club.   And in her ‘spare’ time she flips houses and loves to take her dog and buddy Eli on long walks.

Above all her greatest role is mom to her son Drew who together they love Halloween and everything spooky.
